  • This was our second time at the cottage. We walked in and it definitely felt like home (except without all of the interruptions from 3 children!). Just a restful, relaxing place! The amenities are phenomenal! You’ll not believe the wonderful breakfasts provided and how a smile comes to your face when you hear the little bell letting you know it has arrived at your door! The view from the front porch is amazing! This is definitely a place for a honeymoon, anniversary or “just because”. Please consider staying here…you will NOT be disappointed! Barb S. (January 2016)
  • My wife and I enjoyed our stay while celebrating our 16th anniversary. This cottage was EXACTLY what we were looking for. The attention to detail was impressive – nothing was overlooked. The breakfast that was brought to the door each morning was delicious. If you’re looking for a cozy, comfortable, relaxing place to get away from it all – this cottage is highly recommended. We loved it and will be back. Aaron C. (January 2016)
  • My husband and I arrived at the cottage on Christmas day to relax and celebrate his birthday. From the time we pulled up, we knew that our stay was going to be an enjoyable one! The cottage is extremely cute and cozy. They made the most out of every bit of space! Walking in, the cottage smelled very clean and fresh. The main floor living space is very cozy with a fireplace and the kitchen with snacks, water, coffee and condiments. There was a plate of homemade chocolates on the island that were absolutely delicious! The lower level bedroom was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. There was a full bath downstairs too. The upper level has a big jacuzzi tub with a tv and bathroom. It was very relaxing and the view outside was breathtaking! The breakfast in the morning was delivered right at 9AM in a picnic basket. It was very good and there was a lot of food!
After we left, we took the advice of the owners and took a ride to Dundee Falls which are about 7 miles away (the directions are in the cottage). They were very pretty and we are happy that we went.
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, you will not be disappointed! Leah’s little touches make the place beautiful! We can’t wait to go back, to relax on the balcony and front porch and to sit by the pond next to a fire!
We didn’t want to leave! Jennifer H. (December 2015)
  • Wife and I go to Amish Country every year for Christmas to get away instead of buying gifts for each other. This little cottage was everything we wanted and more. Breakfast was amazing, lots of snacks also. Spents hours out by the pond with a fire going just enjoying nature.
I highly recommend this Cottage and we will be back for sure. George H. (December 2015)
  • Our weekend getaway was amazing. Perfect decor, everything about the cottage was thoroughly thought out, delicious breakfasts every morning, easy drive to attractions. We plan on returning, and soon! Brandi P. (December 2015)
  • Me and mi wife just got married and felt like going somewhere quiet and relaxing, and we found this place and dicided to go there, and we did not regret it, it was absolutely beautiful, very quiet and relaxing, definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing place. David & Susan (November 2015)
  • My husband and I stayed at the cottage for our 18th anniversary. We loved everything about it! The living room and kitchen area were comfortable and the homemade chocolates were a nice touch. The bedroom and bath downstairs are well thought out and we loved the jacuzzi upstairs! You won’t believe how much space is in this little cottage, and they have thought of everything! There were Christmas decorations in every room and we loved having breakfast delivered to the cottage the next morning! We will be back! Becky G. (December 2015)
  • From the moment we entered the door, pleasant surprises filled our week there! Much bigger than we assumed from pictures with best amenities to enjoy a relaxing indoor stay. Then the views were breathtaking of the countryside and horses! Plus so close to all the tourist spots! The final mouth-watering thing was all the scrumptious breakfasts from Leah! We were blessed to have found this place! Ruth K. (Novermber 2015)
  • What a wonderful place to spend some time far from all the noise and the mess of our daily life. It was a great getaway for me and my wife. The cottage was so cozy and so romantic. We loved the sunrise and sunset from the porch. Absolutely gorgeous. Abdullah A. (November 2015)
  • My husband and I were looking for a quiet, ” off the grid” getAway before the busy season of Thanksgiving and Christmas arrived. This was the perfect spot and we had a wonderfully secluded, comfortable stay at your wonderful cottage. Clean, well stocked and perfect for a romantic escape from reality! Anyone choosing this spot will not be disappointed. Breakfast was amazing…plentiful, delicious and delivered each morning with a ring of a bell to announce it’s arrival. I didn’t actually partake in much because I don’t eat meat and hadn’t mentioned that to anyone ( I will next time, I promise!). My husband enjoyed breakfast and then had the rest to snack on later. This spot met and exceeded all our expectations and we will return. We will also smile, sigh and remind each other how relaxed we were there as the action, full calendar and demands of the next few weeks unfolds! Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all….and thank you for your charming hospitality! Sharon T. (November 2015)
  • What you read online about this Cottage is exactly how you will find it when you arrive. We were greeted warmly and presented with homemade chocolates, our receipt and the key. Breakfast time (0900) was discussed and we were told exactly how this wonderful morning treat would be delivered and presented. We went to the Cottage and let ourselves in to find that the pictures and description of said Cottage is EXACTLY how it REALLY is. Immaculately clean and very lovingly decorated and well maintained. There was bottled water in the refrigerator, snacks in a basket on the counter next to the stove and directions to nearby grocery stores, meat markets and attractions printed and laminated on the side of the refrigerator. The water and snacks provided are free- there was even coffee and creamer in the cupboard for the Mr. Coffee machine. The gas fireplace with a remote control for operation in the living area was just what the doctor ordered since it was very windy and cold during our stay (or you can use the AC/heater). There is a pond stocked with bass and blue gills and fishing rods to use, a gas grill, swing, fire ring and firewood all provided. The bed is very comfortable with a heater in the room. Upstairs there is a BIG jetted tub with lights and candles for a romantic soak, a half-bath and access to a deck that in warmer conditions would have been perfect for coffee and breakfast in the morning (and the room has its own A/C & Heater to make you even more comfortable although the fireplace warms this room perfectly too). The kitchen has all that you will need to make simple meals (who really wants to cook anything complicated on vacation). We came here to disappear for a couple of days and relax, so having many attractions nearby wasn’t that important; however there are waterfalls nearby that we will discover another time. If we had needed anything at all, I’m sure that the owners would have provided it or told us where to get it, they were very nice. We have already recommended this Cottage to many friends and family because we had an absolutely wonderful time there and it is priced very well. If you are wondering how the wonderful breakfasts were- they were delicious! Homemade cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage, Hawaiian Parfaits, Pumpkin pancakes with homemade cinnamon syrup, baked apples. Each day there was enough food to have something left for lunch. Seeing the beautiful horses next door was a treat to us city folk. Overall- a perfect time! Barry L. (November 2015)
  • We enjoyed our relaxing getaway at this private, peaceful cottage. This was a short trip to belatedly celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We appreciated the cleanliness, the tasteful decor, and all the extra touches (family-friendly DVDs, wraps/bags in the kitchen for leftovers, bottled water in the fridge). Upstairs we enjoyed the large jacuzzi tub, as well as the views of the surrounding farm country – horses, barns, sunrises, and sunsets. The fireplace was cozy on a fall day. It would be nice to come back again when the weather is warmer so that we can take advantage of the swing by the pond and the porches. It was great having a fresh, hot breakfast delivered to our front porch each morning. The proprietors contacted us by text to let us know of a minor change to the check-in routine, and our interactions with them online messages were all positive ones. Great experience! Carole C. (November 2015)
  • Staying at The Cottage was a great experience. It is in a perfect location with a great view. Martha and Leah are very helpful and provide activities (such as fishing) supplies to make your experience filled with fun! Definitely plan on returning in the Spring! Paige S. (November 2015)
  • My husband and I enjoyed 2 nights in The Cottage. It was so comfortable and had everything we needed. Our breakfasts were delicious and extra special since we were celebrating a birthday. The Cottage was a wonderful place to stay and we loved the peacefulness of it all. We hope to stay there again some day and absolutely recommend it for couples that need a quiet getaway. Vicki C. (October 2015)
  • We just lived the ambiance…a true oasis from the craziness of day to day life. A much needed weekend in a wack-a-doo year. Breakfasts were so scrumptious. You will love it here… We will definitely be back! Rebecca L. (October 2015)
  • My wife and I stayed at the cottage the first night of our getaway weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Everything we needed was there and it was simply relaxing. Recommend. David M. (October 2015)
  • We had a great time. Very private with a great view. Everything you may need is already there. We stayed for 2 days & didnt have a want for anything. The breakfasts were wonderful. A great place to go to getaway for a few days. Looking forward to a return stay. Dave Y. (September 2015)
  • If you are looking for peace then this is the place to be. Early morning sounds of birds, crickets, cicadas and lets not forget the horses grazing and talking to each other. The cottage was supplied with everything you would need including a hot dog roller for the grill and aluminum foil! Leah has thought of everything. The high standard of cleanliness cannot be beat. Every morning at 9am on the dot Leah would bring us our breakfast and it was nice to try and guess what todays’ deliciousness would be. There was an ample supply of wood for the firepit and very obliging bluegill in the pond that would bite almost immediately. Would go back in a heartbeat! Suggestion box: screen doors would have been delightful?! Kay M. (September 2015)
  • It is a little bit of a drive, but believe me it is well worth it. The cottage was just how they described on line and more. It was very clean and well kept. The breakfast was outstanding and we looked foward to see what was waiting for us the next morning. We enjoyed sitting by the pond and the peace and quite. We also like the special added touch of the homemade choclates that were waiting on us when we arrived. We will be back again and we have told all of our friends that they needs to go!!! Melissa B. (July 2015)
  • It’s like living in a Norman Rockwell painting or a Fairytale. My wife and I are staying at the cottage until tomorrow and we don’t want to leave. This morning we sat on the front porch and listened to the horses next door, a woodpecker at the other neighbors property and birds everywhere. A hummingbird even came within five feet of us and said hello and then left. We ate our breakfast there listening to nature, watching the horses play. No voices, no city sounds, just nature. The breakfasts are awesome! As I sat outside with my beautiful wife looking at God’s awesome creation, I had scrambled eggs with bits of ham, sausage gravy and biscuits, seasoned potato wedges and a cup of mixed fruit. It was perfect! The Jacuzzi tub was comfortable for me and my wife to fit in and yet small enough to be romantic.
The bed is soft and comfortable. Love this little house! Can’t wait to come back in the fall to see colors of the trees from the cottage. You won’t be disappointed! Just sit back and relax. No hurries, no worries, ahhhhh! Ron G. (August 2015)
  • Beautiful little cottage (almost like a tiny house) on a quiet country road overlooking a breathtaking landscape. We loved the seclusion (smackdab in the middle of many Amish farms) and yet we were still only 15 minutes away from any of the tourist activities. Leah was a very gracious host and obviously works very hard to keep the house and the surrounding property in tiptop shape. The breakfasts were yummy, filling, piping hot, and always delivered right on time. We actually asked to move our breakfast time back a bit and she was very willing to do that for us. Be aware that the property is not necessarily handicapped friendly as there are stairs to the bedroom (basement), the tub in the master bath is kinda high to step into (but a jetted tub that is very relaxing), and the romantic large whirlpool tub is on the third floor. Regardless it is a wonderful place to stay, we highly recommend it to those looking for a romantic, relaxing setting, and we look forward to coming back sometime in the future. Kathi B. (July 2015)
  • We absolutely LOVED every single second of our stay! The cottage and view were gorgeous. Everything was fresh and clean. We loved sitting by the pond enjoying the peace and quiet. The breakfast was amazing! Loved the jacuzzi room! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate our 13th anniversary! Can’t wait to go back and hopefully spend more than one night! Turner A. (July 2015)
  • I can not express how happy I was to drive up to the cottage… It looked exactly like the pictures. Martha greeted us with a smile and was so friendly. The cottage has such a warm, homey feel and I couldn’t help but shut off the rest of the world and relax. I loved the selection of movies available and the jacuzzi was very nice. We stayed for our anniversary and will do it again! I highly recommend for couples who just need time away and together! The homemade breakfasts really topped it all off! Enjoy your stay… you will not be disappointed. Vanessa V. (June 2015)
  • This place was the perfect blend of romance and convenience. Nothing more was wanted, for the Stone Cottage has it all: Not one, but TWO bathrooms, a fireplace, private hot tub, free snacks in the kitchen, two televisions, an outdoor fire pit with woodpile, and home-cooked breakfast every morning at 9am. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our stay, and even the absence of Wi-fi went happily unnoticed amid the delights of this place. We can hardly wait to return here on our next trip to Amish Country! Andria R. (April 2015)
  • We couldn’t have picked. better place to stay for our Anniversary getaway. The cottage is clean, cozy, beautifully decorated, and you can tell that a lot of thought was put into the ammenities provided by the owners. The tub was great! The bed was super comfy. The view, gorgeous!! Leah’s breakfast was delicious, and everything about our stay was amazing! Thank you for having us! We will be back again real soon! Ryan and Wendy B. (April 2015)
  • Super Clean Very Nice Highly Recomended! Mike N. (April 2015)
  • If you are just thinking about making a reservation…DO IT! Our stay at this charming cottage was exactly what we needed! From pulling into the drive to pulling out as we left, we could not have asked for anything more! The “extra” touches to make us feel at home were so wonderful. Get ready to feel pampered as Mrs. Zook rings the bell and leaves a scrumptious breakfast at the door! We woke up on our last morning to a beautiful snowfall, which turned into several inches before we left. Tobie was very gracious to have it all cleared by the time we needed to leave. We can’t wait to come back! Barb S. (February 2015)
  • We had the most peaceful, wonderful visit! Perfect stay! Bethany A. (February 2015)
  • My wife and I stayed here as part of our 40th. wedding anniversary, and could not have picked a better place to stay. Although this time of year is usually called the “off” season, we still found lots of things to do and see. There are a number of good restaurants within an easy drive to choose from as well as activities to choose from.Breakfasts were fantastic and served promptly at 9 am. each morning at our doorstep in an insulated basket. It was nice to know the owners were close enough if there were any problems, but that they also respected our privacy while we were there. The owners attention to detail was evident throughout the property and their pride as owners was apparent. We will be back some day in warmer weather so we can take advantage of the pond and swing. Thank you for allowing us to call your cottage OUR cottage for a few days. Curt L. (January 2015)
  • Amazing. Gonna go back in summer and stay longer one night wasn’t enough!! Jordan K. (January 2015)
  • As part of our 40th. anniversary my wife and I decided to stay at the Cottage. We were not disappointed at our decision. The breakfasts were great, served promptly at 9:00 am. every morning in an insulated basket brought to our doorstep. We were at the Cottage on a very cold week, and the warm coziness of the cottage was a welcome break from the outside temps. We will come again, and hopefully the experience will be the same. There were plenty of places to go and see even though it was “off” season, and we had a ball. The attention to detail was evident throughout the property, and the owners were an absolute bonus, close enough if something went wrong, but respectful of our privacy. Other than your personal items, everything was carefully thought out and provided. Great dining choices close to the property and easy to find. Can’t wait to go back !! Curt L. (January 2015)
  • Me and my kids had a great stay, views were amazing, watching buggies go by. cottage cozy and comfortable with the best breakfast. tubs were great after a day of hiking at Dundee falls.Sarah A. (December 2014)
  • Words can not express how wonderful our stay was. The cottage is spotless, breakfast incredible. Will return. Juanita H. (December 2014)
  • Can’t even begin to explain how perfect this place was! They thought of everything you might need and beyond that. It is so cozy and warm with the fireplace and the tub upstairs. We had the best time! Definitely coming back! 🙂 Taylor S. (December 2014)
  • My husband and I stayed at the stone cottage in celebration of our 13th anniversary and we were not disappointed! The cottage was perfect for our much needed time away, it was decorated beautifully! The jacuzzi room upstairs was by far our favorite room with the gas fireplace a close second.
Each morning we eagerly awaited our breakfast delivery from Leah! I felt like a child on Christmas morning opening the basket to see what wonderful surprises awaited us!! Again we were more than surprised, everything was delicious!! The fresh peaches the first morning and yummy yogurts and granola the second morning!! Delish. We can’t wait to return and we took some brochures to share with our family and friends.
The country landscape made us feel so at home. It was nice not staying in town with all the hustle and bustle. We didn’t get a chance to fish but really appreciated the fact that fishing poles were provided!
Thank you so much for opening up your cottage to us!! Looking forward to our next stay. Jessica and Jeremy R. (September 2014)
  • was very nice & clean would recommend the cottage to everyone wanting a nice getaway .we will be back thanks Jackie W. (September 2014)
  • What a darling cottage! Enjoy the rustic countryside without sacrificing any modern comforts. The craftsmanship of the cottage was truly impressive, as was the delicious breakfast! Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The cottage was a perfect fit for our family, and we hope to return soon! Hannah Y. (August 2014)
  • Charming, beautifully decorated, great view overlooking pond and across valley. Loved it. Roger F. (September 2014)
  • What a great little cottage! We were spending our 23rd anniversary and the site was perfect. When I say it was a cozy little cottage for two it was absolutely perfect for the two of us. The details that Leah and her family put into it was great and noticed. With the convenience of nearby tourist activities it all made for a great weekend! Thanks! Matthew S. (August 2014)
  • My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at the Stone Cottage. The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. While the pictures posted were nice, the cottage was even more beautiful than we expected. Martha’s decorating gives the place a very romantic feel and it is kept extremely clean. My husband enjoyed fishing in the pond and we loved sitting next to the pond with a fire in the evening. Tobie gave us a tour of the Loft and it is also beautiful. Leah’s homemade breakfasts were outstanding. We travel a lot and we haven’t been anywhere where we have been so impressed overall. It was a pleasure staying at the Cottage and meeting the family and we are looking forward to returning. Carrie M. (August 2014)
  • We were very impressed with this beautiful cottage and loved our time there. The breakfasts were delicious and the location in the country beautiful. We appreciated the little extras like the snack basket and cold water bottles. Thanks Leah for everything. We will tell friends and family about this delightful place. The only negative would be the fact that the bedroom area was very warm. Thankfully, there was a fan that we were able to use. John G. (August 2014)
  • What a wonderful stay at the cottage. The little extras were much appreciated. Breakfasts were great too. Didn’t want to leave. Rosanne A. (August 2014)
  • We returned home yesterday from our weekend stay at the stone cottage and wish we were still there! Martha, Tobie and Leah ~ thank you for a beautiful stay and peaceful retreat! We were there to celebrate our 12th anniversary that was a couple of months ago and I can think of no better place that we could have gone. It was the perfect escape from the stresses of home and our busy lives as the parents of 4 young children. We enjoyed the lovely shops, the falls, a couple of wineries and still had time to sit back and relax inside the clean and beautifully decorated cottage. This wasn’t our first stay in the area, but by far the stone cottage is our favorite. Looks so little from the outside, but the 3 floor set up is perfect and made for the perfect private escape. Leah was wonderful and the delivered breakfasts were the best we’ve had. Cannot wait until we can return! Thanks for all of the special touches and for some great memories. Exactly what we needed ~ thanks for everything!!! Aimee A. (July 2014)
  • The wonderful, small stone cottage is exactly as described in the listing. It is extremely clean and has pretty much everything you need (including a kitchen very well-stocked with cooking utensils). My wife and I have stayed in Amish Country a few times before, but always closer to the town of Berlin. The location of the cottage is REALLY “away from it all” – about a 15 minute drive to Berlin and a 20 minute drive to Dover. Just a warning: cell phone reception will be VERY challenging. We have Verizon (typically the best carrier for rural areas) and we had to go outside or lean toward the windows to even get a VERY weak signal. The homemade Amish breakfast (delivered to your door every morning) was AMAZING!!! While smaller, the living area and kitchen area (on the main floor) are fine for just two people. The hot tub (on the top floor) is very relaxing and gives the option of beautiful outdoor views OR a flat-screen TV (with DirecTV). The bedroom and bathroom (on the bottom floor) are spacious enough to be comfy, but not overly big. One warning about the bedroom: the A/C doesn’t reach the lowest level very well, so if you need a REALLY cool environment to sleep well, renting during the middle of summer might not be a good idea (looks like there’s a heat panel down there for cold winter nights). We found an oscillating fan in the bedroom closet, which helped a lot. Other than those minor issues (cell service and A/C in the basement), this place would be a fantastic get-away for any couple! Peter F. (July 2014)
  • This is our 3rd time staying here and we love it every time. Very cozy, clean and comfortable as well as romantic. The views over Amish country are amazing! Breakfast in the morning is the best part of all!! Natalie K. (July 2014)
  • We enjoyed meeting you and your family. Thank you for your clear testimony of what the Lord has been doing in your family and church. We were very encouraged.
The cottage was great for us–we had dietary needs and it was so convenient to be able to prepare our own food and come home at the end of a day knowing that we could relax in a country setting.
Your breakfasts were wonderful and promptly delivered right to our door! How special!
Everything was just as advertised, and better: clean, well-maintained, and charming as well. We used the porch, the jacuzzi, the kitchen, both TVs, and of course, the bedroom and bath downstairs. We took walks in the surrounding farm area, went to surrounding towns for shopping and sightseeing, and ate at a couple of restaurants that we liked very much.
We would definitely recommend this lovely property. Perfect for a couple. Gene E. (July 2014)
  • The cottage was adorable. I loved the exterior stone and walkway, as well as the porch downstairs and the deck upstairs. I was craving fresh peaches and the first morning there were fresh peaches on my french toast! The homemade breakfast the second day was also delicious. The thought and care that goes into the breakfast baskets were something I will remember from my stay at the Cottage 🙂 Dave & Erin O. (July 2014)
  • I surprised my husband with an overnight stay here in celebration of his 50th birthday. It was more than we expected … So beautiful! My husband was able to fish in the pond and we sat in the swing with a nice fire in the pit until dark.
Breakfast arrived precisely at 9 with a ringing of the handheld bell. The food was delicious!! We will definitely return each year or more. This stone cottage has been added to my top 5 list of of accommodations. Thanks!Tammy S. (July 2014)
  • We could not have picked a more perfect place to spend our 30th Anniversary. The cottage was so cozy and clean. We never wanted for anything. If there was anything we mentioned that we needed our hostess, Leah, was more than happy to accommodate us. The breakfast that was provided each morning was excellent. We were really spoiled staying at this rental. My husband and I were in need of a nice relaxing get away and we could not have been more pleased! The only negative was that we could not stay longer!!! Thanks to the Swartzentruber family for sharing this lovely place with us! J&K. (June 2014)
  • My husband and I rarely get the opportunity to escape for a little “us” time. We had the most relaxing and peaceful stay at The Cottage. Everything was perfect and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. We especially enjoyed watching the horses walk down over the hilltop in the morning as we waited for our delicious breakfast to arrive! We looked forward to returning to “our” cottage, after a day of sightseeing and shopping in the surrounding Amish Country. Thank you for this lovely experience. We will surely return and have recommended this cozy cottage to our friends and family!
  • We really loved our stay at the stone cottage!! Everything about it was truly wonderful. The quiet and serenity, along with the extreme cleanliness, and the genuine hospitality (and delicious breakfast with homemade jam!!) made for a much needed pleasant stay. Miss Leah is so nice, and made us feel at home. Had a nice chat with Martha when we were leaving, and look forward to seeing them again. Even the folks in the area were friendly, waving at us when we sat by the pond, or when we drove by them. Good people. Certainly not what we are used to, living in the city……
Our only regret was we had to leave!! We will stay longer next time! Claudia O. (June 2014)
  • I dont know where to begin. Everything from top to bottom inside and out was wonderful. Ray and Bonnie
  • The Cottage –what a jewel! We were looking for a special place to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we found exactly what we needed. We leave this place rejuvenated in body and spirit. Could we please take Leah home with us? She is a delight! Hope to come again. Jerry and Cathy
  • Wonderful Place!! Everything was so comfortable and nice. We were able to relax and have a great time. We felt totally spoiled here and wished we could stay another week. Thanks for going out of your way and going the extra mile to make it an amazing experience. We will never forget. Ray and Anna
  • Thanku! We loved it! The decorations are lovely with sweet romantic touches. Its quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The breakfast was served right on time and was so yummy! This was a perfect little place for us to enjoy together. Aaron and Sheila

  • From the moment we pulled in the driveway we knew we were going to have a lovely time. You have a great location with a beautiful view. We stepped inside and were amazed at all the small details and touches that made this cottage like home. We definitely will be coming back. Scott and Delta
  • Our first time here at this cozy quaint cottage was truely and enjoyable an relaxing time The light snow enhanced the coziness as we relaxed near the fireplace. The breakfasts brought over by Leah were absolutely scrumptious! We plan on returning. JV and DC
